Wedding Guest Photo Prompts That Actually Get Used

Handing someone a camera and saying "take some photos" produces exactly what you'd expect: a handful of blurry selfies and a lot of unused capacity. A specific prompt gets specific photos.

Specific beats generic, every time

"Capture something that made you laugh tonight" works better than "take a candid." "Get a photo with someone you just met" works better than "mingle." The more concrete the ask, the easier it is for a guest with a drink in one hand to actually act on it in the ten seconds before they get distracted again.

Rotate the prompt through the night

Prompts help with coverage, not just quantity. If you only ever ask for "fun photos," you'll get a pile of the same dance-floor shot from thirty angles. Rotate what you ask for over the course of the night, and you end up with something closer to a real timeline of the day instead of one moment repeated thirty times:

• Arrivals — "Snap the first person you say hi to"
• The meal — "Get a photo of your table mid-conversation"
• Speeches — "Capture a reaction, not the speaker"
• The dance floor — "Get someone mid-laugh, not mid-pose"
• The send-off — "One last shot before you head home"

Put the prompt where it'll actually be read

If your guest album supports a running prompt — ours does, you can set one when you create your film and change it any time — put it somewhere guests will actually see it right before they open the camera, not just on the invitation they read three weeks ago. A line on the QR sign itself works better than a paragraph in the invite.
